Last year I didn't have a garden (I had a 3 month old). The year before that I had a small container garden (it didn't produce a ton). The year before that we moved into this house in August and I was 8 months pregnant (I think that explains itself).
This year I wasn't planning on anything really, until one weekend in early May my parents came to babysit. They helped pull weeds and get all the spring gunk out of our flower beds. I casually mentioned I'd like to try a few tomato plants and some pepper plants.
When I came home that night they had planted two of each, in a side flower bed behind the house that we weren't using (aka, was mostly weeds and some random flowers). I'm not much of a green thumb, what can I say?
I wasn't given these plants too much hope. After all they were planted in an old flower bed, that was over grown, full of rocks, old plastic (to keep past weeds at bay), some mulch and various other things.
But, I've got to hand it to these babies. Last night, I went out and counted.
40+ tomatoes between the two plants. I'm shocked.
I better figure out what I'm going to do with all of these.
