We are well into this holiday series and it's been getting great feedback!  There is still time to enter Day 6 and Day 7, so be sure to check out those posts.

But today my friends is all about COFFEE.

First, full on confession.  I only started drinking coffee 3 years ago {that would be my mid-thirties, for those wondering}.  I grew up with both parents drinking it daily so I have no idea why it didn't catch on with me.  In fact my older sister and brother still don't drink it!  Apparently, our parents never doctored it up it with sugar and cream when we were little so we could take a sip.

Now, each and every day starts with a cup {or two}.  My favorite combo is a drizzle of pure maple syrup and a splash of half and half.  I often use this milk frother too to jazz it up like a latte!

I'm a homebody at heart so any chance I get to curl up under a blanket with a warm cup of joe I'm game.

Have you grinded your own coffee beans before?  I have a good friend who SWEARS by it, which in turn pressured me to get a grinder.  Well, guess what?  She was right.

Fresh coffee beans that are ground right before you brew is ideal.  Just like food, fresh is best!  Pre-ground coffee loses some of its delicate aromas and oils.  It's okay if you're not grinding your own, no judging here.  I keep a package of pre-ground coffee in my fridge at all times too.

But if you have an extra minute before brewing in the morning, take the time.

Beyond the coffee grinder it's important to have good, quality coffee!  Earlier this year it was brought to my attention that my small Iowa hometown opened a coffee company, Ross Street Roasting Company.  I saw a few friends raving about it and knew they'd be perfect to partner in this holiday series.

They source their coffee from single countries and growing regions, sometimes even single farms!  They work closely with coffee farmers and have direct working relationships so that you can receive fantastic coffee, but at the same time gives a greater benefit to these growers, their families and communities.

Ross Street Roasting Co. is growing fast and their praise is well deserved!
