Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

Fall season is nearing! And for me that means everything pumpkin.
These Pumpkin Snickerdoodles are just like you think - a fall spiced delicious cookie!

Who doesn't love a home baked cookie?

None of that store bought stuff. Even though convenient, they are never as good. Golly, I've made so many cookies over the years. It's the one dessert that not a single person ever gets tired of!

My most famous one is most definitely these chocolate chip cookies

Come Christmas time these peppermint bark ones are a big hit.

And my favorite "short cut" one uses a yellow cake mix and no one ever knows.

What I'm saying is - I LOVE ALL COOKIES.

Just like a traditional snickerdoodle (covered in cinnamon and sugar before baking as seen here), this pumpkin version does the same! Plus the dough is studded with pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin puree. It's gives them a little orange tint and right away you can tell they are just a bit different from the original.

It's the cookie that will make people say, "what is this?"

Oh you better be ready to hand out this recipe! It is just different enough that people will want to make them for themselves.

Especially during the months of September through November - primetime pumpkin spice season. Have you gotten that Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks yet?

Look at these beauties!

On a side note - I love the spices from Simply Organic. Here is a photo of the pumpkin spice I use in all my Fall recipes. You can buy this same bottle here.

P.S. - they are a local Iowa company!

Not to get on a spice rant, but make sure you are replacing your spices once a year. Especially ones you are only using sporadically. They really can lose their flavor over time.

These Pumpkin Snickerdoodles are just what you expect from a snickerdoodle. Slightly crispy on the edges and soft and chewy in the middle.

They bake up PERFECTLY. Rolling them into a ball before dipping into a sugar and cinnamon mixture helps them keep their shape. Great for entertaining or delivering to a neighbor or friend on a pretty Fall plate.

Let your friends take a guess after taking their first bite! Will they notice that this snickerdoodle is different? I bet they will. The pumpkin flavor really comes out and stands front and center.

Make these soon, snap a photo and tag me on social media (@sweetsavoryeats)!

I'd love to see your version. I can promise your family will enjoy them. If you like them as much as me, please leave a star rating review on the below recipe card. Your feedback always makes me happy. Make this cookie your new Fall recipe go-to!
