Buffalo Chicken Tater Tot Casserole

Here’s a fun new tater tot casserole idea! It combines all the tastes of your favorite buffalo chicken flavors. Great for dinner or tailgating!

If you’ve been a follower of mine for any amount of time you know I’ve always loved a buffalo sauce in addition to any meal, dip or appetizer.

Over the years I’ve made so many! Remember the stuffed shells I created last year? Or the tostadas that we love for simple lunches? Or perhaps you love the new high protein, healthier buffalo chicken dip I made over this past Summer?

All of them are great. All of them have that tangy, vinegar-y, spice kick that’s fun and flavorful.

I’m continuing my series with Cookies this year and being it Fall, which includes not only tailgating season, but also back to school season, together we wanted to create a dish that would be good for both.

My new Buffalo Chicken Tater Tot Casserole can be put together for a quick mid-week dinner, OR it can be baked off and taken to the big game wrapped up to be kept warm on the tailgating food table.

Everyone knows the traditional and classic tater tot casserole version – ground beef, cream of mushroom soup, cheese, any green vegetable topped with tater tots and baked until bubbly.

This new buffalo version is essentially prepped the same way but with different ingredients – chicken, cream of chicken soup, ranch dressing, cheeses, buffalo sauce, seasonings and of course, tater tots!

Cookies Wings-n-Things Hot Sauce has the perfect blend of cayenne pepper juice, vinegar, butter, garlic and more. I love how it’s thick and creamy and just hot enough to give food a kick, but nothing that is overwhelming.

This casserole was a big HIT at our house. Something different and fun! The chicken combined with the soup, cheeses and seasonings makes for a creamy base layer. And those crispy tater tots on top?

Perfection.
