Bacon Cheese Turkey Burgers

I ate one of the best burgers of my life last night.  The husband ate a third of it while I wasn't looking.  Darn me, for getting up from the table to get the kid's milk.

You really think I would learn by now.

Remember that line from the Christmas Story, where Ralphie narrates that his mother hasn't had a hot meal in 10 years?  Sometimes I feel like that is me.  Up and down.  All the time.

But...I'll admit it, this burger was good cold, too.

Every piece of this dinner was cooked on the grill last night, in between the hot spring heat and a vicious thunderstorm.  We eventually ate.  And it was good.

Burgers, bacon, potatoes and asparagus all done on the grill.  Minimal clean up and great taste.  My kind of meal.

Bacon Cheese Turkey Burgers
*makes four burgers
1lb. ground turkey
2 T. Worchestire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 t. onion flakes
1 t. dried parsley
1/4 c. seasoned bread crumbs {I used panko}
1 t. salt
1 t. pepper
dash of hot sauce

Combine all ingredients into the ground turkey, shape into four patties.  Grill on medium to high heat, 7-8 minutes a side.  After flipping burgers place bacon straight on the grill until desired doneness, set aside.  Top with a slice of sharp cheddar last few minutes, and throw on buns to get toasted.

Assemble burger, bacon, tomato, sauce, etc.  Eat!

What is the best burger you've ever eaten?  Where did you eat it?

Would you like to comment?

  1. Looks Good...can not beat asparagus on the grill though. As far as burgers...any thing that has blue cheese on it makes my day!

  2. The best burger I had was last week at Yeah! burger in Atlanta,Ga. Very juicy turkey burger.

  3. Do your turkey burgers stay moist? I've read that adding sauteed veggies to turkey burgers help them stay juicy - just wondering!

I made a reuben burger not too long ago - topped with sauerkraut with a schmear of fat free thousand island dressing on the top and bottom of the bun, then topped with swiss cheese - yum!

  4. Hey Biz! Yes, these did stay nice and juicy. The receipe even called for adding an egg white, which I think would make them even more moist, but I was out of eggs so I just omitted it and they still were good!

  5. In N Out still has my favorite burgers. Yours look really good too. I love the turkey and bacon combo.

Bacon makes everything better! The best burger I ever ate was years ago in Iowa, it had asparagus spears served on top and was to die for.

  7. I had the first burger I've eaten in a VERY long time on Monday. It was good, but this sounds even better! I love the addition of the bacon and worchestershire sauce. Yum!

The best burger I have ever eaten was at a place about 20 minutes outside of my city ... I haven't been back there in years (since I had it), and I don't know why!!! I better get back there soon!
