Your holiday table
will rejoice with this side dish for the holidays.
This amped up version of creamed corn is easy and delicious.
This post is
sponsored by AE Dairy, but
all opinions are my own.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love everything about
it and everything that surrounds it – the anticipation of the day, the over-the-top
meal, the Macy’s parade, making the shopping lists, watching football, the
pies…and yes, taking a nice, long post-Thanksgiving nap.
Everything is fun to me!
And while I do feel you should stick to your family
favorites for the meal, I do also believe in trying one new dish each year to
see if it will “stick”.
Maybe my new Slow Cooker Garlic Parmesan Creamed Corn
will become a favorite?
AE Dairy and I wanted
to showcase their
heavy whipping cream in a dish for the holidays and after testing and
tasting this one, I promise you’ll agree with me, it’s a keeper.
Their heavy whipping
cream has a fresh, pure taste with a smoother consistency than other
brands. They call it “heavy” because it has a higher butterfat than compared to
most others. Made with cream that is just hours fresh from Iowa farms, it is
the only one on the market that is all natural without stabilizers. Literally,
the freshest around.
To make this unlike the usual
creamed corn dishes, both AE Dairy and I
wanted to give it ample flavor – in this case the savory tones of garlic and
Parmesan cheese. Plus, I wanted to make it a dish that could easily be carried
(literally) to all holiday gatherings with ease.
Enter in the slow cooker –
this dish can cook at home and be kept on warm or can be cooked at the house
you’ll be eating Thanksgiving dinner at. Either works!
You are welcome to use canned sweet corn in this recipe
(simple and economical) or if you froze sweet corn over the Summer (good for
you!) you can use that too, both work great.
I feel like the longer this dish sits and stays warm the
better it gets – creamier and even more flavorful.
The spices (garlic, pepper, paprika, a little sugar) give
the corn so much flavor and the nuttiness of the freshly grated Parmesan cheese
give it depth.
If I haven’t convinced you yet….what are you waiting for?
This Slow Cooker Garlic Parmesan Creamed Corn is
ideal for an holiday table. It’s so much better that plain corn. The heavy
cream, the cheese, everything takes it up a notch and the slow cooker takes all
the work out of the equation.
I’d love to see your photos! Please tag myself (@sweetsavoryeats) and AE Dairy (@aedairy) so we can share your
