Dill Pickle Pizza

I’ve taken a Midwest staple appetizer and turned it into pizza!

My new Dill Pickle Pizza combines garlic, pickles, Canadian Bacon, a creamy dip base and lots of cheese.

This post is sponsored AE Dairy, but all opinions are my own.

Dill Pickle Pizza....a slice on a white dinner plate and other slices on parchment paper.

Here in the Midwest we have long had a low-ball appetizer gracing our tables for years known as pickle roll-ups, Midwest sushi….and honestly many other names. It’s a simple slice of ham spread with cream cheese wrapped around a dill pickle spear and cut into slices.

Nothing too glamorous, but we love them!

When AE Dairy and I started chatting about our March recipe using one of their famed sour cream dips, I immediately asked if I could use their Dill Pickle dip to recreate this said appetizer into a fun pizza.

They said, YES!

So buckle up pickle fans, this one is for you!

You are welcome to use a store bought pizza crust (like I did here) or make your own (try my easy no-fail pizza dough recipe), either work great. It’s whatever you prefer.

I will say, whatever crust you choose, try assembling it and baking it straight on parchment paper directly on the bottom oven rack. This will give you a nice, even crispy crust.

Instead of traditional pizza sauce, I instead used AE Diary’s Dill Pickle Dip, a little olive oil and some fresh minced garlic. This trifecta gives it great flavor before you even get to the toppings!

After that I layered on sliced Canadian Bacon, dill pickles slices (I kept mine sliced whole, but you can certainly chop them up as well), mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

This pizza is simple, yet FULL of pickle-y flavor.

The crust is crispy on this one, the middle layer is creamy and the toppings are so fun and unique. You know, during the Summer I like to invite my girlfriends over for dinner and drinks and last Summer I did pizza night.

I made three different pizzas and they brought snacks. I’ll usually serve my Sweet Asian Chili Crab Rangoon Pizza, sometimes my Chicken Alfredo Bruschetta pizza…..but this new one will really knock their socks off.

Try serving this one on your next Friday night pizza night! Pickle lovers will find it so fun. Non pickle lovers may still give it a shot!

When you do try it, please share your photos and tag myself (@sweetsavoryeats) and AE Dairy (@aedairy) as we’d love to share them on our social accounts. Put your own spin on it and let us know how it turned out!

A big thank you to AE Dairy for sponsoring this post.
