The holidays are right around the
corner, and I have the perfect breakfast and
brunch item for your table!
This post is sponsored by AE Dairy, but all opinions are my own.
One of the
easiest ways to serve your family and friends during the holiday season is to
invite them over for brunch – killing two meals with one. And these quiches?
A super easy, affordable and time-saving way to fill everyone’s bellies.
This recipe
makes TWO quiches, both easily feeding 12 people. But what is even
better? You can prep these in advance OR even bake them in advance so that your
whole day isn’t spent in the kitchen.
It’s the
holidays! We’d much rather be spending time with our families.
There are a
couple “stars of the show” in these quiches. One being a store-bought pie
crust. There is no reason not to get some help from the grocery store during
the holidays. I promise you – not a single person will ask if the crust is
homemade.
Second, AE Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream. Oh my, oh my….it has a
fresh, pure taste with a creamier consistency than any other cream out there.
It is made with cream that is just hours fresh from Iowa farms being one of the
only ones in the market that is all natural without any stabilizers.
This
whipping cream mixed with eggs makes for the creamiest and lightest quiche.
I baked
these on a big, rimmed sheet pan – it easily fits two pies (that way in case
you have any overflow or spillage, your oven stays clean!).
If you
want to prepare this ahead, here are your options:
1. 1. Make as directed and bake per directions. Allow the quiches to cool
completely. Then cover with plastic wrap and foil. Place it in the freezer for
up to 2 months. When ready to bake, remove from the freezer, place on a baking
pan and bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the center is warmed
through.
2. 2. DAY AHEAD: Go
ahead and par bake the pie crusts as directed, let cool, cover and place in the
refrigerator. Whisk together the filling and place it in the refrigerator. Have
all toppings (ham, peppers, cheese) prepped and ready to go also placing in the
refrigerator. When ready to bake the next day, simply assemble and bake as
directed.
AE Dairy’s Heavy Whipping Cream makes these quiches seem like you
are eating a fluffy cloud. The texture is amazingly creamy.
My family
went bananas for these. Of course you can add any toppings you enjoy. Other
options – cooked sausage, mushrooms, onions, different cheeses (feta would be
fun!), really anything you love in eggs.
Ham is
always around during the holidays, so this quiche is a great way to use up
those ham leftovers.
Please share
your holiday photos!
AE Dairy and I would love to see them. We’ll
also share them! Tag myself (@sweetsavoryeats) and AE Dairy (@aedairy) and you’ll see your creations on our pages.
