Top Recipes of 2022

Another trip around the sun...and what a great year my blog had!
I created & developed 44 new recipes in 2022 and here are the TOP TEN.

You guys, I have been blogging since December of 2009, which if I'm doing my math correctly is 13 years. So much has changed, so, so much. At this point I feel like the old Grandma as so many new food bloggers are young, hip and just graduating college - but I continue to still plow along!

One of my favorite things to do at the end of the year is go back and do a little "year in review". I take a look at my stats and really dive in to what was popular (and sometimes what was not). It's so fun to see what took off!

And so once again I've found my Top Ten recipes from 2022. The ones that created the most hype and had the most page views. Let's take a look at what everyone loved!

I created these burgers for the Iowa Beef Council and to this day it's still one of my favorites. Like a great Italian meatball but in burger form! Loads of fresh mozzarella and marinara top this burger. I promise not a soul will be disappointed if you make these for dinner.

Need a creamy and comforting soup? Look no further. This hearty soup is filled with all the classic comforts - potatoes, corn, bacon and cheese. It's thick and perfect to serve on cold winter nights.

I'll always remember this recipe as the one I made a critical error on. When I first published it I listed the wrong amount of sea salt (way too much) and wow, did you all let me know it! Once we got that fixed everyone loved them. The perfect sweet and salty dessert.

You know a recipe is good when it debuts in the Fall and still makes the Top Ten. I took a classic snickerdoodle recipe and added pumpkin. Genius idea on my part! Just a slight pumpkin tastes comes through, along with pairing spices. These are chewy and delicious.

Every few months I make a batch of these and stick them in the freezer for school mornings. They are so good, my kids love them! And I love that they get a hearty breakfast before heading out the door. Layer them with whatever you like, but we prefer bacon and cheese.

Oh, the blondies heard about around the world. I had some haters get on me about this recipe using too much butter (and in one case too much flour). I had to remind them that this is a DESSERT RECIPE. Most everyone else loved them - a rich, thick blondie studded with spiced apples and topped with a maple glaze.

I now make these burritos once a month and no one complains. They are incredibly easy with just six ingredients. A fun combo that includes both a red and green enchilada sauce, as well as a creamy beef middle. We like to serve them alongside Mexican rice.

My kids gobble these up! I've been know to bake off two batches and stick them in the freezer for easy snacks and grab-n-go breakfasts. Studded with just enough apples and spice, yet kept healthier by omitting oil, we love these muffins.

I created this pizza for a family member that had celiac disease and cannot have any glutens (flour) and honestly we end up eating now just because we like it so much! The crust is made of eggs, cheese and spices and holds the toppings really well. Also great to make for any low carb eaters!

Look who is number one! Our new favorite pizza! If you love a crab rangoon and enjoy pizza, then you'll love this fun version. Everyone I have served it to raves about it. A creamy crab spread, multiple cheeses, green onions, wonton strips and a sweet Asian chili sauce.

Honorable Mentions:

Sheet Pan Cinnamon Roll Cake - tastes just like a cinnamon roll, yet it's easier to make!

Baked White Spaghetti - a mild cream sauce swirled between grilled chicken, mushrooms and pasta.

There you have it folks!

My Top Ten list of recipes from 2022. Did any surprise you? Are there a few you missed during the year? Once of your favorites?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Your feedback is so important to me. As always thank you year in and year out for visiting my food blog and making my recipes.
