Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Bars

Ready for a 3 ingredient dessert?
These Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Bars are easy, gooey and delicious!

My kids are officially out of school for Summer.

While I'm trying to wrap my brain around having them move on to 7th, 6th and 3rd grades {respectively} next year, all they really care about is what's for dinner and if they are lucky.....some dessert to cap it off.

Lucky for them - dessert was on tap!

I kind of pride myself on easy and simple meals for you guys - so why not throw an easy dessert into the mix as well? I know you all have a strong sweet tooth.

You guys.

These bars only have 3 ingredients! You are probably thinking.....how is that even possible? Well, let me tell you.

Take some help from store bought chocolate chip cookie dough, jarred caramel sauce and flakey sea salt and DESSERT IS DONE.

That's it!

Remember - I can make fancy things and complicated sweet treats, but I also am a very busy Mom of three so I love a good short cut as well.

Here's how it works.

One layer of cookie dough. One full jar of caramel sauce. Lot of flakey sea salt. Another layer of cookie dough. More sea salt. Bake and cool.

I mean, do I really even need to share a recipe card? Hahahaha, don't panic I will below. But honestly, probably the easiest dessert I've ever made.

And talk about delicious. Allow these bars to cool fully before cutting into bars - that middle caramel layer is amazing - but needs to set up a bit. The flakey sea salt brings the flavor to another level. Eat straight out of the pan or fill a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fly straight to heaven.

With Summer almost here {not officially}, but kind of feeling like it - these bars are great for any party or barbecue. They hold up amazingly and travel great. I promise they will be the hit of the show! This 9x13 pan makes 18 bars. So it's an easy recipe to feed a crowd.

The crumbly cookie base and sweet, gooey middle layer of caramel go together like socks and shoes. Just perfect!
