Pick one, pick a few...try something new!

We have woken up to snow AGAIN here in Iowa and it is April 9th.  Yes, you read that right.  We are all ready for some warm weather here.  Can you send us some?

Planning this post a couple weeks back, I had figured I'd be soaking in the warm Spring sunshine by now, but alas we aren't.  That will not stop me from chatting about my favorite fruit: STRAWBERRIES.

When I was little I remember my mom cut them up for a snack in the summer, along with a bowl of sugar to dip them in.  I still can't believe she did that, because now as an adult I feel they are sweet enough and I have no doubt my kids would think I've gone to the looney bin if I ACTUALLY LAID A BOWL OF SUGAR OUT IN FRONT OF THEM giving them free rain to dip away.

Times have changed.

I also remember eating a lot of Frosted Flakes cereal for breakfast, as well as Toaster Streudels {golly, those were my favorite} and I'd never serve that now, but thank you Mom for the great memories.  I was the last kid left in the house, I'm guessing she was just OVER breakfast.

My long time faithful readers know I've had a strawberry patch in my back yard for the past few years.  Last year God graced me with the BEST CROP EVER.  For the first time in years I didn't even have to go to my favorite strawberry patch about 30 minutes away to pick flats to make my annual strawberry freezer jam.  I just walked to my back yard!

By the way, best jam ever, you need to make it.

I'm a little worried how my crop will be this year...usually after 4-5 years the crop tends to die back down, but we'll see!  I'll let you know around June.

So with strawberries on my brain and my endless wishing for Spring weather, I figured I'd gather
25 of the most delicious strawberry recipes around.  Many sweet, a few savory, a few drinks, a couple pies, lots of desserts.  Let's dig in.

These Strawberry Cream Cheese Danishes remind me a LOT of a hometown Czech dessert I grew up eating called kolaches.  Fun fact: my favorite flavor was prune!  Who knew, I'm weird.  I also love when those Golden Oreos come out in the store, something about their vanilla flavor draws me in.  So why not these Golden Oreo Strawberry Cheesecake Bars?

I still feel like it's "cobbler" weather around here {because if you haven't heard me complain...SNOW}, so this Strawberry Cobbler Recipe is also on my list to make.  As well as this recipe for Strawberry Butter, which most defitinely needs to be spread on a bagel for breakfast.

I also love how strawberries can go the savory route.  Why not?  My friend Heidi {who also co-wrote my favorite Nourished Planner} came up with this brillant Strawberry and Avocado Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken.  I'm not always a "fruit on my salad person", but when it involves strawberries, I'm game.

To continue on the savory route, my friend Ali came up with a Strawberry Salsa recipe.  I'd take a tortilla chip to that salsa no questions asked.  Or how about a Cucumber and Strawberry Poppyseed Salad?  Again, I'd lick that right up.

And considering we all need a little "clean out" here in there, I'm really looking foward to trying this Strawberry Detox Water.  In the summer I love to keep a jug of ice water in the fridge with fresh mint, limes and lemons.  This one might be a good change up!

Right behind, my strawberry freezer jam, my Strawberry Upside Down Cake takes 2nd place.  People love {as well as I} that it only has 4 ingredients!  One being a bag of mini marshallmallows.  Intrigued?  It's so delicious.

Stayed on the cake route, I'm also loving this Strawberry Yogurt Cake, as any baked good with yogurt in the batter is my friend.  Or perhaps my Strawberry Ginger Beer Dump Cake.  Yes, ginger beer makes this cake!  Another super easy one that is just a dump and mix recipe.

I also love anything cheesecake related {who doesn't?}, so I'm eyeing these No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Bites.  They'd be great for a summer picnic or potluck.  My fans also give great reviews to my Strawberry Swirled Cheesecake Shortbread Bars

Umm, you know what?  I've failed to bring up anything chocolate related.  What's wrong with me?  As chocolate and strawberry are pretty much a match made in heaven.  I'm definitely giving these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Brownies a try.

And do you love brie cheese?  I do.  It's a bit savory and a bit sweet, just like this Strawberry Balsamic Baked Brie.   If you're not a brie fan, I'm guessing your a yogurt fan {fact: I hated eating yogurt up until about 5 years ago}, but now I'm loving this Stawberry Pretzel Parfait.

And....pie.  I can't forget pie!  Here's a classic Strawberry Pie that is perfect for ANY Spring or Summer gathering where you need to feed a crowd.  Or if you're super lazy when it comes to baking pies, give my Strawberry Slab Pie a go.  It's easy!

How beautiful does this Frozen Strawberry Lemonade look?  This could very well, be made into an adult slushy come July when it's boiling hot outside.  Or for a true adult day drinking cocktail, why not try these Strawberry Shortcake Sangrias?  I'll drink anything that combines dessert and alcohol.

You know what else I love?  When someone combines anything with a sugar cookie.  These Strawberries and Cream Magic Bars have a sugar cookie layered bottom, plus a creamy strawberry topping.  I'm game.

And let's not forget breakfast.  These Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls with a Lemon Cream Cheese Glaze should probably grace any brunch or breakfast table....FOR SURE.  I love any twist on the traditional cinnamon roll.

Tarts are NOT hard.  Don't be intimidated!  This Vanilla Cream Fruit Tart from Taste of Home magazine is loaded with strawberries and comes together in under an hour.

The same goes for a trifle from Taste of Home, they look very complicated, but it doesn't take much effort to layer all the prettiness in a big bowl.  Maybe try this Strawberry Angel Trifle?  Get the cake store bought and it's even easier.
