These sheet pan cheeseburgers are one of the best burgers I've ever had. Hands down!
Simple to make - no need to drag out the grill.

What a fun one I have for you today!

I have forever been a burger fan. Always and forever. Growing up if we ate out at a restaurant it was the ONLY item I ever ordered. Ever.

Never got sick of them, always enjoyed them.

Now at 40 years old {ugh} they are still one of my favorite dinners. Whether ordering out or eating at home. My birthday is in August and it is my one requested dinner each and every time {burgers, potato salad, baked beans and birthday cake to be exact}.

What I'm getting to is.....I KNOW BURGERS.

I can grill them up myself, but I've always wanted to create a great, delicious burger made inside the house, sheet pan style. I mean, winter is knocking on our door and no one enjoys standing outside in the harsh elements. Not me at least!

When Cookies BBQ and I started chatting our next recipe project together I immediately knew I wanted to pitch these burgers.

They jumped on board.

There are a few tricks to making these burgers juicy and flavorful and slightly charred from the oven. Just a few quick steps to make them mouthwatering delicious. 1) yummy barbecue seasonings 2) butter 3) a hearty ciabatta bun 4) cheese and bacon and 5) a quick broil in the oven.

You can do this!

By adding Cookies Sweet Hickory Barbecue Sauce and their Flavor Enhancer {a simple barbecue seasoning} directly into the burger patty - it turns these burgers into mouth watering bites of greatness. I made these burgers TWICE. Not because I needed to {they were great the first time}, but because I wanted to.

They are that good.

I made the second batch at 9:00 in the morning after the kids headed off to school in order to take photos and have a quiet house to myself.

And I am not ashamed to say that it was my breakfast.

Look at that burger!

The hearty, thick bottom half of the ciabatta bun soaks up all the sweet juices while the burger cooks. And yes, you cook the seasoned patty right on the bun!

Putting these burgers under the broiler cooks them up super fast. That and the combination of topping them with BUTTER and Worcestershire sauce, no flavor is allowed to escape. Plus, of course that cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon helps too.

There is no better barbecue sauce in my opinion than Cookies BBQ. It has long been a staple at our house and will continue to be. For over 40 years they have been dedicated to bringing us high-quality sauces and seasonings. I love that all small town grocers carry their products, but you can also find them in every big boxed store as well.

This recipe makes 4 yummy burgers, which is perfect because most ciabatta rolls come in packs of 8, which only means you can make them again the next week.

A simple, easy & delicious way to make burgers in your oven! You won't believe how good they taste - mixed with barbecue sauce and seasonings, crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese - these come together quick!

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, just to get it warmed up a bit. Place your top oven rack to the middle of the oven.
  2. Cover a small rimmed baking sheet with foil. Place the bottom halves of the ciabatta buns on the foil lined sheet.
  3. In a bowl gently combine the ground beef, Cookies Sweet Hickory barbecue sauce and the Cookies Flavor Enhancer. Divide the meat into 4 balls.
  4. Take one of the balls and gently press into a rounded patty and place it directly on top of the ciabatta bun. Continue to do this for the remaining burgers.
  5. Using a knife gently score the tops of the burgers making an "X". Drizzle 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce on top of each burger. Then place 1 square tablespoon of butter on each patty. Finally sprinkle on some additional Cookies Flavor Enhancer.
  6. Turn off the bake option to the oven and place it to "broil".
  7. Place the baking sheet of burgers into the oven and broil for 10 minutes. Do not walk away (it's a good idea to set a timer). Check on them the last few minutes just to make sure they aren't getting too done, too fast.
  8. Remove the burgers from the oven and top with a slice of cheddar cheese and the bacon crumbles. Then broil for an additional 1-2 minutes or until melted and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite burger toppings. These can be eaten open faced or topped with the remaining half of the ciabatta bun.
