Want a refreshing drink this Summer?
Just a few ingredients makes these fun and easy.
My two girls will do anything for a fun drink while we are out and about running errands and while that is fun those drinks can add up quickly!
To them going through a drive thru for a quick drink is nothing, but to me I knew I could make something similar at home.
So I figured I'd give it a try!
The ingredient list is simple: lime sparkling water, fresh limes, frozen cherries, sugar and ice. No complaining looking at this recipe, its just four ingredients!
I personally love the "bubbles" in carbonated drinks, but if that is not your thing regular water, coconut water or any light juice would work - you just won't have any bubbles.
Cherry Limeades have been around for years (or drinks flavored as cherry limeades) and I love the taste of them - tart, yet sweet and smooth!
For this recipe I used frozen pitted cherries (found easily in the freezer section). You can use fresh, but the ease of frozen is nice + they are already cold and almost act like extra ice in the drink. Fresh limes compliment the cherries and little bit of added sugar take away the tartness of both.
Yes there is sugar in this - it's okay!
The most important part of make this is mashing up the cherries and limes with the sugar to get all those juices flowing! Then it's just a matter of adding lots of ice and topping the drinks with sparkling water.
The first sip is so refreshing!
This recipe makes two big glasses of limeade - enough to fill two quart mason jars.
Are you already thinking of taking one of these to the pool this Summer?? And feel free to make any substitutions, I know other fruits would work great too.
