Nothing beats a GIANT pop tart!
This one is made with little fuss, but looks darn cute and kids love it.
I've got to admit. My Mom never purchased Pop Tarts growing up and I've never purchased them for my kids. Please trust me when I say I am not one of those Moms who manages their sugar intake. They get plenty. Plus now they are older, so they make their own choices and half the time they aren't even home!
Saying all of this, I just never buy them. Mainly because I know the store bought version could be made better at home, right?
And just kind of fun.
I have been dreaming about making my own giant Pop Tart for awhile and I finally did it!
In my head I decided why not take two store bought pie crusts, fill them with jam, seal it up and bake until flakey? And then drizzle with a thin glaze?
Well, guys it worked!
And it looks really cute. My teens were also excited when they saw it sitting on the counter after they got home from practices.
Is it dessert? Is it breakfast? No one really knows, but I had fun making this one for you guys.
Since I made this a strawberry version (probably our favorite jam flavor), I also wanted to incorporate it into the frosting, so you'll notice there is a little jam in the frosting recipe as well.
And sprinkles!
Because most Pop Tarts have sprinkles.
Other Pop Tart versions you can make:

- Marshmallow Creme

- Peanut Butter
This Pop Tart bakes up in just 10 minutes! It is flakey and fun. Let it cool, whip up the glaze and spoon it over the crust. If you want to get crazy like me add some sprinkles.
This will hold up for a few days if kept covered. It's a great treat for any family gathering or if you just want to impress your kiddos.
