20 Ways to Make Spaghetti

What family doesn't eat a lot of spaghetti?
Here are 20 different ways to make the popular dish. Some traditional, some wildly opposite.

Collage of three different spaghetti dishes

I feel like most American mothers will made traditional spaghetti for dinner at least once a month for a few reasons 1) it's easy 2) kids gobble it up and 3) it requires virtually no brain power.

At least this is how it is in my house. I can always count on a big batch of red sauce and spaghetti noodles (often with a side of garlic bread) to fill my family's bellies without complaint. But saying this...it can get a bit mundane and boring at times too.

Over the years I've played around with different versions just to change it up and we've loved them all! Therefore I wanted to give my readers a list of some of those recipes as well. You've got to scroll down through this list - it's a fun one! And I promise you'll grab a few to try out soon.

Baked White Spaghetti in a casserole dish with chicken and mushrooms.

I created this dish last Fall and it was an instant hit. The noodles bake in a creamy milk, egg and cheese sauce. PLUS, it's amped up with sautéed chicken and mushrooms.

We all love Mexican food, so why not make it spaghetti style? This one is creamy - filled with tomato sauce, green chilies, onion, ground beef and cheese.

Do you love French's Fried Onions? If so, you'll love this one. Shredded chicken, spinach, sour cream and so much more all baked together for the ultimate spaghetti bake.

Ever made a Bolognese? Throw that jarred sauce in the trash. This one may take a bit more time, but it's worth it. Grab the red wine, fresh herbs, carrots and onions and get to work.

Baked Florentine Spaghetti....in a white Pyrex dish.

Spaghetti bakes are fun and easy. They can be prepped ahead and baked up later. This one is "Florentine style" which essentially means "with spinach". Don't forget the super cheesy layer.

Ever put barbecue sauce in your spaghetti? Shockingly, it works. The sweetness is this one will win your guests over quickly.

This one went bonkers last year and for good reason. It combines both a red sauce and a white sauce and then gets baked together.

Almost all Mothers will love any dinner that is completely made in one pot. Let's face it clean up is half of dinner's work. The spaghetti noodles cook in beef broth in this one!

10 Minute Tomato & Garlic Spaghetti....in a stainless steel skillet.

Another great one pot meal using simple, whole and healthy ingredients - whole wheat spaghetti, fresh garlic and tomatoes. Grab a side salad and dinner is complete.

If you love citrus, this spaghetti dish is for you. Only 8 ingredients in this one! 20 minutes of prep and just 10 minutes of cooking time. This is a fun one for Summer.

This (from scratch) baked spaghetti dish is creamy and hearty. A little bit of heat is in this one with peppers, Rotel and chili powder - but trust me when I say it brings out all the flavor.

No more jarred sauce here, take the extra step and make it from scratch, you'll love it. This recipe uses my friend Michelle's spinach mozzarella meatballs which just add to the flavor of this dish.

Creamy Pulled Pork Spaghetti....in a skillet and on a white dinner plate.

Everyone loves pulled pork here in the Midwest and we find all different ways to make it stand out from the original. One surprisingly cheesy ingredient makes this one fun.

This one, known as garlic & olive oil spaghetti, is incredibly easy and is one that kids will love. Just six simple pantry ingredients. Great eaten hot or cold!

I have no idea if this spaghetti is actually eaten by cowboys, but I definitely know it is hearty enough to fill their bellies. A little bit of EVERYTHING in this one.

Yep, cream cheese can make a wonderful base to any pasta. This is a great one to have in your back pocket when time is short and your people are starving.

Million Dollar Spaghetti - red sauce and cheesy layers are baked together with spaghetti noodles.

This baked spaghetti took my blog to stardom around 10 years ago. And to this day I make it every few months. A cheesy layer is baked in between a meaty red sauce layer. It has incredible flavor!

This light and flavorful spaghetti has all the flavor of shrimp scampi - lemon, white wine, garlic, fresh herbs and more. It comes together quick, but can also be served as a fancy dinner.

How about a Tex-Mex version of spaghetti? It's like tacos and spaghetti got married. Lots of flavor here - don't forget to add extra "taco" toppings before serving.

Spaghetti noodles are tossed in a creamy egg and Parmesan cheese sauce with the salty bite of pancetta (can use ham too). Great eaten fresh out of the skillet or as leftovers the next day.
